Marcy’s George Russell Retires

George Russell, Marcy’s Public Works Administrator, has retired after serving the town for 21 years. He was honored June 6 at a retirement party in the Town Hall, attended by town officials and employees, members of the business community, friends and family. As Public Works Administrator, he oversaw building inspections, codes enforcement and sewer inspection.

“When you think of George, devotion, honesty, and dedication to the town come to mind,” said Town Supervisor Brian Scala. With George, “integrity is number one.”

Russell received a plaque from the town, a baseball cap sporting the Marcy seal, and a plaque from contractors that poked good-natured fun while wishing him well.

Reading the town plaque, Scala said: “Your 21 years of dedicated service as building inspector, codes officer and sewer inspector is greatly appreciated by everyone in the Town of Marcy. You brought professionalism, fairness, expertise and the willingness to help all residents in the town.”
